Trump says peace between Israel and Iran ‘will happen soon’

US President Donald Trump said peace between Israel and Iran “will happen soon,” adding that “many calls and meetings (are) now taking place.”

“Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal,” he said in a post on Truth Social.

The Israeli military says missiles have been launched from Iran toward Israel, triggering air raid sirens across the country.

"Sirens sounding across all of Israel as another missile barrage is launched from Iran," Israel Defense Forces said in a post on X.

The United States is directly complicit in Israel’s attacks on Iran, President Masoud Pezeshkian told a cabinet meeting Sunday and warned that continued aggression would be met with harsher retaliation.

"Israel could not act without American consent," he said, citing a reported exchange between a US official and Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi.

Pezeshkian added that Iran does not seek war but said "the armed forces — both the military and Revolutionary Guards — would respond with increasing force if attacks persist."
